Workshop on NeVA
Hon’ble Chairman, Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali and Hon’ble Speaker, Legislative Assembly, Dr Nirmal Singh inaugurated 2-day orientation workshop (March 12-13, 2019) on National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) at Central Hall of Jammu and Kashmir
Legislative Assembly Secretariat on 12™ March, 2019. The orientation workshop programme on NeVA was organized by the Jammu and Kashmir State Legislative Assembly and Council, in collaboration with the NeVA team of Union Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and NIC J&K aiming at promoting paperless working in both the houses. The officers from both the houses were educated about Master Data Entry, Question Module, Bill, Notice and List of Business Module etc. in NeVA application.
Union Secretary, Parliamentary Affairs, Sh S N Tripathi and Joint Secretary Dr. Satya Prakash also participated in this two days function held from March 12-13, 2019. NeVA Coordinator, Sh Arpit Tyagi and Data Base Administrator Sh Sameer Versani highlighted the objectives and importance of the National eVidhan Application through a power point presentation. Sh. Rakesh Jamwal, Scientist-E NIC J&K gave a detailed power point lecture on the technical features of NeVA, present status and future strategy to be adopted for its implementation in J&K.
NeVA is a mission Mode Project of Govt. of India to digitize and make the functioning of State Legislative houses paperless. It is a member centric application so as to equip them to handle diverse House Business smartly by putting entire information needed by them in their hand held devices/tablets
and equip all the Branches of Legislatures/ Department to handle it efficiently. The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, is the ‘Nodal Ministry’ for implementation of e-Vidhan MMP and empowered to take all necessary steps to promote and rollout e-vidhan- re-designated as National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) in all the 31 states/UTs.
The NeVA team gave a detailed presentation about the installation of NeVA application, One Nation One Application and its functioning. The Secretary, Parliamentary Affairs also highlighted the importance of implementation of the National e-Vidhan Application project.
Dr Nimal Singh, Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly and NeVA CPMU team appreciated the ICT support provided by NIC J&K for completing the trial Master data entry, session-wise processing of questions for previous 12th J&K Legislative Assembly enabling availability of eBook as well as List of Business, besides other reports. The workshop would make the participants aware on how the digitization, availability and applicability of information could save precious time, money, energy and resources of the Houses and its members and increase their efficiency manifold. Among others present were Secretary, Legislative Council, Muzafar Ahmad Wani, Secretary, Legislative Assembly, Achal Sethi. Sh. Suresh Kumar, Scintist-F, Sh. Rakesh Jamwal, Scientist-E and Sh. Sarabjeet Singh Scientist-D from NIC J&K.
